Offering 6 HDMI 2.0 inputs, the VSX-44 handles 4K2K Ultra HD video at 60 frames per seconds. 4K Ultra HD is the latest high-definition video display format, with four times the resolution of 1080p. Ready to deliver 4K Ultra HD video signals to a compatible display, the Elite VSX-44 supports home theater systems dedicated to producing the highest quality picture available today. HDMI 2.0 is also backwards compatible with earlier versions of HDMI. The VSX-44 allows 4:4:4 based 4K2K 60P content to be handled offering up to 18GBPS throughput.

Roku makes it easy to stream movies, shows, music and games from over 1,000 content providers to your TV whenever you want them. Simply plug your Roku Streaming Stick into the Roku Certified MHL 2.0 port on the back of your receiver to unlock a great selection of entertainment choices. The VSX-44 gives you instant access to your favorite content and allows you to control it with your smartphone or tablet. It offers the latest Made for iPhone® 5s and 5c Certification. And as a networked receiver, it supports Apple’s AirPlay® music streaming technology, allowing you to enjoy your favorite music with your iPhone, iPod® or iTunes® anywhere in the house.
In addition, Pioneer was the first brand to support HTC Connect™, the only unified approach for streaming music wirelessly from select compatible Android smartphones. The VSX-44 also supports DLNA® 1.5 media streaming, which lets you access your favorite music from a DLNA server or computer connected to the same home network. Multi-Channel Acoustic Calibration (MCACC)
MCACC creates the optimum acoustic environment for movies and music in any room in the house. Pioneer developed the technology over 10 years ago with the help of professional recording studios. The system, complete with custom microphone, automatically compensates for differences in speaker size, level, and distance, and equalizes the response. Whether you’re watching the latest Hollywood blockbuster or listening to high-resolution music, MCACC will make sure your home theater sounds its best.
On-Screen Overlay
OSD and GUI
If your home theater system is enclosed in a cabinet, it’s often difficult to know the status of certain functions, such as current volume level. With On Screen Display (OSD), your receiver’s basic information, such as volume, input, and surround mode, will overlay on screen as you make adjustments with the remote, so you don’t have to switch to a blank screen background. This feature can also be disabled if you prefer. Meanwhile, the GUI (Graphical User Interface) lets you easily navigate Internet radio and iPod/iPhone contents. Both the OSD and GUI operate via HDMI.
Bluetooth Ready
AS-BT200
The AS-BT200 Bluetooth® adapter is a simple solution for adding wireless audio to your home theater system. Using the AS-BT200, simply connect your A2DP profile Bluetooth-enabled device to the port on the back the VSX-44 and enjoy your music wirelessly from your iPhone, Android™, PC, laptop or any other A2DP profile Bluetooth-enabled sources. AS-BT200 is sold separately.
