Description
The Idealist Returns
Introduced in 2005, the original Soloist was a bit rough
around the edges. Still, with its fully discrete circuitry, resistor ladder
volume control and Class-A amplification, the Soloist made a name for oneself,
turning Burson from a band of idealists into a brand representing ideals.
The Soloist returns, all grown up and civilized, but without
forgetting his humble, blue-collar lineage. He returns to upset the audio
industry aristocracy with his flair for performance and working-class
affordability.
Astonishing Power
The Soloist 3X-Performance spits out 8000mW in XLR and
4000mW single-ended. Yet, it can drive headphones up to 110db sensitivity
without detectable current noise. There is simply nothing like it in the industry.
The key to this ferocious power and pitch-black background
is 3 sets of Burson proprietary Max Current Power Supplies (MCPS), delivering
instant, abundant and clean energy to its fully discrete and Class-A circuitry.
Elitist Volume Control
The Soloist uses the legendary MUSES72320 volume controller.
The same controller using by industry aristocrats such as the Pass Lab XP-30,
the AVM Ovation and other flagship preamps priced for the fortunate few.
Being a resistance ladder circuit, the MUSE72320 has perfect
channel balance and separation, resulting in a phenomenal sound stage. When
combined with three levels of gain and our input buffer stage, The Soloist
matches any headphone and loudspeaker amplifier perfectly.
Headphone Power Amp Mode
Less is more, and that is the truth even when using the best
components on the signal path. Although the MUSE72320 is an incredible volume
controller, we’ll let you bypass it when your DAC or preamp already controls
volume.
You can also use the Soloist X to boost the driving power of
your favorite soundcard while centralizing volume control from your favorite
playback software or games. It would be the ultimate upgrade to any listening
and gaming experience.
Self-Assured But Never Self-centered
The Soloist is confident and self-assured, but it still
plays to your preference. It encourages opamp rolling with gold plated DIP8
sockets on its signal path. With countless audio opamps out there, you have
complete freedom to create a unique listening experience.
Listening Impression
Never drawing attention to itself, the Soloist is not a
flamboyant showman but a phenomenal performer that lets you discover your favorite
tunes anew. It powers through any demanding work with precision, reveals
micro-details which makes music magical and unveils the emotional core within
the rhythms. With our blood, and tradition pumping through its veins, the
Burson Soloist 3X returns to entertain a new generation of audience.
